Proud Parents: Helping Babies with March of Dimes

The Lachey Family

Today I wanted to take a moment to tell you about a cause that is so important to me. With Mother’s Day coming up, I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about how lucky and grateful Nick and I are to have two healthy, beautiful children. And I’ve also been thinking about how I want to help those babies who weren’t as lucky as Cam and Brooklyn. Did you know that 1 in 9 babies in the U.S. is born too soon, and at risk for a lifetime of complications or even death? As a mom, this is a cause close to my heart. Which is why I’m supporting the imbornto campaign through March of Dimes.

March of Dimes

I’m excited to partner with March of Dimes to help ensure that more families can live their dream.

So how can you help? First, visit imbornto.com and read about ways that you can get involved. One way you can help is by shopping! Yes, I said shopping… When you shop through imbornto Partners, the March of Dimes receives money that helps support babies and families everywhere. Pretty amazing!

What does Mother’s Day mean to you this year?

Let me know in the comments.

Vanessa, thank you so much for your support with March of Dimes. Due to a blood clotting disorder my first son was born at 21 1/2 weeks at 13 ounces but passed away the day we had him. We miscarried with our second baby but with the Good Lord and good doctors we got our third child, a beautiful baby girl, here safely. It was not without a fight on our part or out daughters. She was born 8 1/2 weeks early weighing 2 pounds 10 ounces and had to be hospitalized for 6 weeks 2 days. March of Dimes is very near and dear to our hearts. With 2 premature babies I know the research and love that goes into March of Dimes is one of the reasons my daughter did so well after she was born. She is a miracle and who fought hard daily and after just turning 4 on April 15 she is a force to be reckoned with. Thanks again for you love and support to this great cause!!

Thank you for your support with March of Dimes. It’s one of my favorite causes. It hits home. I was born almost 2 1/2 months early and almost didn’t make it. But with God’s help I was one of the lucky ones that did. Because of what I and my parents went thru, I was nervous about it happening when I was pregnant with my son, but luckily, he was born FULL Term! At 40 weeks and 5 days to be exact :) I was so thankful to have a healthy and happy baby.

Mother’s Day is one of my favorite days because it’s another reminder of how lucky I am to have someone call me Mama! It’s one of the best things to hear. Hope you have a great day celebrating with your beautiful family.

Saw your fun interview on the Today show.Congrats on your new family member and your focus on bringing more awareness to an important cause! Are you familiar with the vaginal microbiome? The research currently done there suggests that the vaginal microbiome plays an important role in fertility, pregnancy and the health of children.
